Johnson College was founded in 1912 as a trade school by Orlando S. Johnson, a wealthy coal baron. Since then it has evolved to college status, offering advanced manufacturing degree programs grounded by general education courses. The technologies offered include precision machining, biomedical equipment, computer information, HVAC, diesel truck, logistics, radiologic and veterinary. Four hundred students pursue degrees at Johnson College’s Scranton campus.
