This image began as a watercolor sketch of the beautiful Sacred Heart Church in Peckville, PA.

The shafts of light and portions of a rainbow closely follow the precisionist work of Charles DeMuth. The shafts and rainbow echo features in the dramatic stained glass artwork surrounding the entrance to the church.

DeMuth was a watercolorist who pioneered American Precisionism. He was born in and retired to Lancaster, PA where a museum celebrates his life and work.
