La Festa is an end of summer ritual celebration where Scrantonians and former residents gather to meet old friends, to indulge in authentic Italian fare and to enjoy dancing in the streets to traditional Italian music and the singing of the cantanti.

More than 100,000 people celebrate La Festa each Labor Day weekend.
A favorite feature of La Festa Italiana is the music presented daily by orchestras, instrumental groups and cantanti, singers of traditional Italian folk songs and popular Italian-American favorites. Caught up in the moment, dancing in the street is a not unusual response to the thrilling music.
You cannot visit La Festa Italiana and not partake of homemade ethnic foodstuffs.

The sole disagreement is whose porchetta (or lonza, cannoli or biscotti) tastes best.
